It's been a minute.

Over 6 years since I sat at the bench and actually fabricated anything. It feels good, like coming home again. I’ve been practicing the art of manipulating the texture of metal by depleting the copper in coin silver, and then painting the fine silver on top with the torch.Teaching this technique in a class in a few weeks. I’m a bit nervous: I haven’t taught anything in a while, and TBH, the last time didn’t go so well.So far, I’ve annealed the metal 12 times. I want to have the students get feel of annealing, so, I’ll leave the last 2 or 3 anneals for them. Then, we’ll start melting the fine silver on top, and see what the flame gives up. Bon Courage!
